We are pleased to announce a new release of our IEC60870-5-101/104 Test Tool, enhancing its professional feature set with powerful message filtering capabilities designed to accelerate testing and debugging of IEC 60870-5-101/104 communication. The IEC60870 Test Tool is a commercial engineering software solution widely used by OEMs, utilities, and system integrators for validating telecontrol communication behavior.
What’s New in This Update
This version introduces targeted improvements that make protocol trace analysis faster, more precise, and easier to navigate during commissioning and troubleshooting:
Quick Filtering by Common Address (CA)
You can now filter captured messages directly from the main window by Common Address (CA), essential when focusing on traffic from a specific station or device in multi-station environments.
Why this helps: Engineers can zero in on relevant traffic instantly, reducing time spent scanning large communication logs.
Quick Filtering by Information Object Address (IOA)
We’ve also added the ability to filter message lists by Information Object Address (IOA) directly from the main interface.
Why this helps: This makes it simple to focus on specific data points or control objects during functional verification.
Enhanced IOA Filtering in Advanced Options
The advanced filter dialog now supports refined IOA-based filters, giving you greater control when narrowing down complex traffic scenarios.
Why this helps: Especially useful when working with large ASDU sets or automating multi-point verification tasks.
What This Means for Your Workflow
The IEC60870 Test Tool has long offered robust support for:
- Monitoring, control, and parameter messages
- CS101 serial and CS104 TCP/IP protocols
- TLS encryption and authentication
- Custom message sending and logging
With these latest filtering enhancements, users will find it easier than ever to:
- Analyze communication flows during FAT/SAT
- Validate device interoperability
- Isolate issues in complex test benches
These improvements directly support quality engineering practices, helping teams complete testing cycles more efficiently and with greater confidence.
Availability
This updated version of the IEC60870 Test Tool was released on 23/02/2026 and is available to all customers holding a commercial license.
